How are transportation distances (A2) calculated when materials are loaded at one location but concrete is mixed at the project site?

A2 covers the transportation of raw materials to the point where they're loaded onto the mixing truck. For a volumetric mixer, that point is your material-loading location, not the project site.

If your fleet consistently loads materials from one central location, A2 is calculated as the distance from each material supplier to that loading location — the same basic approach used for a stationary plant, just applied to your loading facility instead of a batch plant.

If materials are sometimes delivered directly to individual project sites instead of a central loading location, A2 instead uses supplier-to-project distances for those cases. Across a reporting period, these distances are weighted by material quantity or production volume, so routes and locations that account for more of your actual production carry more weight than ones used only occasionally, rather than treating every project the same.
