How are distances handled when a fleet loads materials from more than one location?

When a volumetric mixer fleet consistently loads from a single location, A2 is simple: one distance per supplier. When a fleet uses multiple loading locations, a single distance can't represent the whole fleet, so a different approach is used.

In that case, Climate Earth calculates volume-weighted average A2 distances — meaning locations or supply routes that account for more of your actual production volume are weighted more heavily than ones used only occasionally, rather than averaging all locations equally.

Your EPD is then described as representing the covered fleet as a whole, with the loading locations and the weighting methodology disclosed in the supporting project report. This approach exists because a standard single "plant address" field doesn't cleanly capture a fleet that loads from more than one place — so the underlying calculation and disclosure carry that detail instead.
