Do Climate Earth's tools replace lab testing, engineering review or compliance decisions?

 Overview

No. Product Management Tools is built to speed up your work and make it more traceable, but it isn't a contract, a compliance sign-off or an engineering approval. Expert review is still required, and some things must always be verified in the field.

Where review still applies

What it gives you

What still needs your review

Spec Reviewer

Applications, stated requirements and source references, plus flags for missing documents, unreadable pages, conditional requirements and conflicts.

Your own review of the specification. It doesn't invent values, doesn't decide which requirement governs when documents conflict, and doesn't fill every producer-controlled field.

Placement ratings

A rule-based, initial indication of finishability, pumpability and shrinkage.

Field verification. Slump in particular must be reached and verified in the field.

Predictive Strength Model

Expected strength by age, with an uncertainty band.

Trial batches, laboratory testing and engineering review. Predictions apply within the range of mixes used to calibrate the model.

AI Mix Design Assistant

Starting mixes and recommended edits.

Your decision on every recommendation, and field verification of slump. It doesn't work on slump or suggest admixtures.

Enhance

A proposed mix from the same materials.

Validation. A returned mix is a starting point, not a pass/fail or guaranteed result. It doesn't design slump, select admixtures or replace field verification.

Bid Reports

A documented carbon comparison.

Acceptance. The engineer of record, the authority having jurisdiction and the owner decide acceptance or compliance. A declared EPD value should be generated before you submit a bid that requires one.

Why this matters

Concrete performance depends on things a model or rule can't see on screen: the materials actually delivered, batching and mixing, temperature, placement and curing. That's why predictions and ratings work best for focusing your early design work and comparing options, and why your normal trial batching, laboratory testing and engineering review still decide what goes to the field.

A practical way to use the outputs
  • Use the source references to confirm the key requirements before you design to them.
  • Use predictions, ratings and Enhance results to compare options and shortlist mixes.
  • Validate the mix you plan to use with trial batches and laboratory testing.
  • Verify slump in the field, because neither the AI Mix Design Assistant nor Enhance designs for it.
  • Treat a Bid Report as documentation of your comparison. Acceptance rests with the project's decision-makers.
